Mrs. Celestial Rico
Hi everyone!
My name is Celestial Rico. Scholars call me Mrs. Rico.
I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Biola University and began working at VMCS as a 5th grade resident teacher. Working with some of the oldest scholars on campus to now our youngest ones, was a big shift! However, I am so excited to be back for another year of Kindergarten! I truly love this grade because these scholars have so many big and bright ideas to offer as they are so eager to learn about the big world around them. They truly teach me new things daily!
I love working with scholars of all ages and backgrounds. I believe they each have unique gifts and strengths. My main goal is to create a space where everyone feels welcomed, supported, and excited to learn.
Some of my favorite hobbies outside of the classroom include singing, art, teaching chess, and drinking boba! I also lead worship at my local church. I spend most of my free time with my husband, my family, and my cat, “King Oreo.”
I look forward to a wonderful school year!
