Family and Staff Team (F.A.S.T.)

What Is F.A.S.T.?

F.A.S.T. stands for Family and Staff Team and is Vibrant Minds Charter School’s family engagement group. F.A.S.T. brings families and staff together as partners to support a strong, connected school community where scholars can thrive.

While many schools have a PTA or PTO, Vibrant Minds created F.A.S.T. to reflect our belief in co-creation. Families are invited to work alongside staff as active partners, helping shape school culture and experiences in meaningful ways.

What Does F.A.S.T. Do?

F.A.S.T. creates opportunities for families to participate in school life through volunteering, events, and fundraising. These efforts strengthen relationships across the school community and help enhance student learning experiences.

F.A.S.T. supports the school by:

• Organizing family and community events
• Coordinating volunteer involvement
• Leading fundraising efforts that support academic programs and enrichment

Through these activities, FAST helps create a welcoming environment where families feel involved, valued, and connected.

How Fundraising Supports Scholars

FAST leads two major fundraising campaigns each year, along with several smaller events. All funds raised are used to enhance scholars’ educational experiences, including:

• Field trips
• STEAM programs
• Family and community events
• Special school events
• Outdoor Science School
• Visual and Performing Arts
• Little Labs and Big Labs
• Cultural celebrations

Community & Family Events

In addition to fundraising, FAST hosts events that build connection, celebrate diversity, and create lasting memories for families, including:

• Chili Cook-Off
• Holiday events
• Talent Show
• Earth Day activities
• Labrador Gala
• Multicultural Night

Who Can Participate?

All parents and staff are considered to be members of F.A.S.T. There are no membership dues. The only requirement is a willingness to serve and make a positive difference in our scholars’ lives.

Officer elections are held annually at Open House.
